Thank you for visiting the website for St. Mary's C.E. Middle School. We are a 9-13 middle school situated on the outskirts of Puddletown, a small village in the beautiful Dorset countryside. We are a church school with an ethos built on the core Christian values of respect, forgiveness, justice, uniqueness, equality, acceptance and kindness.
We look to inspire our school community and give them the tools to thrive in the modern world, summed up by our school aim of 'Inspire today to shape tomorrow'. We are proud to have been assessed as an outstanding church school in our last two Church of England inspections. We expect the highest standards in both academic work and behaviour and we place our children at the centre of everything we do.
The pupils, staff and governors are very proud of our school and we hope that this website will allow you to see why. We look forward to having the opportunity to meet you in person.
We have been contacted by the bus company who run our travel routes to say that, due forecsted snow and ice, the latest they are happy to run the routes home this evening is 2pm. This will give adequate time to ensure that all pupils get home safely and the bus drivers can return to their depot before the worst of the waether is due to arrive. Therefore, children on buses will be sent home at or shortly after 2pm providing that we have managed to contact the parents to notify them that their child will be returning from school early. We will be phoning all parents involved and sending a general school text out as well.
As the majority of the children here are on buses we will allow children who live in the villiage or come to school by other means to be collected from 2pm at the school office in person. The school will remain open until normal closing time at 3.25pm. Please try to ensure that all children are collected by 4pm at the latest to allow staff safe travel home.
