Welcome to St Mary's C.E. Middle School

Thank you for visiting the website for St. Mary's C.E. Middle School. We are a 9-13 middle school situated on the outskirts of Puddletown, a small village in the beautiful Dorset countryside. We are a church school with an ethos built on the core Christian values of respect, forgiveness, justice, uniqueness, equality, acceptance and kindness.

We look to inspire our school community and give them the tools to thrive in the modern world, summed up by our school aim of 'Inspire today to shape tomorrow'. We are proud to have been assessed as an outstanding church school in our last two Church of England inspections. We expect the highest standards in both academic work and behaviour and we place our children at the centre of everything we do.

The pupils, staff and governors are very proud of our school and we hope that this website will allow you to see why. We look forward to having the opportunity to meet you in person.

Mrs Newman - Administration Officer/ PA to Headteacher

Hello, I am Mrs Newman and I work in the office as an Administration Assistant and PA to the Headteacher.  I have been at St Marys for 2 and a half years and LOVE my job -  especially meeting all the children who come into the office!

When I was at school my favourite teachers were Mrs Hackett, my art teacher and Mr Daniels, my tutor.  This was possibly because art was my favourite subject and Mr Daniels told some really bad jokes, but mainly because they were never too busy to make time for us if we needed anything - very much like all the teachers at St Marys.

When I was young I enjoyed reading about the adventures of the Famous Five and the Secret Seven, both by Enid Blyton.  I still read everyday, much to my son's dismay & love the Harry Potter books.  I will read anything that is an escape from everyday life!

Outside of school I love to do anything creative including drawing, painting, sewing, felting and making cards.  I also enjoy a good puzzle, watching movies, playing netball in a local league and walking.
