GL Annual Assessments (Years 5, 7, 8)
St. Mary's C.E. Middle School uses a suite of tests produced by GL Assessment to measure both the attainment and progress pupils make over a set period of time whilst at St. Mary's. These progress tests are administered at set points throughout a pupils journey through the middle school. They are nationally standardised tests and allow individual pupils and the schools overall performance to be assessed against national benchmarks.
The grid below shows when the pupils sit the tests and which tests are taken.

| How the test is used | This test allows us to assess their level from First School. | This test allows us to look at how much progress has been made during the whole time at the school. |
Please note that we do not use GL assessments in Year 6 due to the end of key stage SATS tests.
